Atelier en ligne sur l’intelligence artificielle générative
Le comité de FLEUR a organisé un atelier en ligne sur l’intelligence artificielle générative en collaboration avec Dr Paul Pouzergues de l’université d’Aix-Marseille.
L’atelier nous a permis d’explorer et discuter les points suivants :
- développer l’autonomie des apprenants par un usage critique et raisonné d’outils d’IAG ;
- préparer les cours et concevoir du matériel pédagogique ;
- réfléchir aux enjeux éthiques, pédagogiques et institutionnels liés à l’intégration de l’IAG dans nos pratiques.
L’atelier était gratuit pour les membres de FLEUR.

Le comité de FLEUR a mené l’année dernière une enquête sur l’enseignement du FLE dans les universités britanniques. L’objectif de cette enquête était de :
– collecter des données sur le profil des enseignant·e·s, leurs conditions de travail, leur expérience,
– identifier les grandes tendances en matière d’enseignement et d’apprentissage
– et de recueillir le point de vue des collègues sur les défis et les opportunités pour le français.

Le 20 mai 2025, nous avons invité nos membres et nos abonnés à une réunion en ligne de présentation de ces résultats. La présentation a été suivie d’une discussion sur les perspectives pour le français, les priorités pour le secteur et pour FLEUR.

On February 10th, 2025, FLEUR’s executive committee wrote to Professor Larner to express their opposition to the closure of Modern Languages at Cardiff University.

We want to bring your attention to a serious issue: the Languages Department at Cardiff University is at risk of closure.
This department plays a vital role in promoting cultural diversity and intellectual enrichment in our society. Its closure would be a significant loss for everyone who benefits from language teaching and research.

Le comité de FLEUR a organisé un atelier en ligne de sensibilisation à l’approche neurolinguistique (ANL) de l’enseignement des langues en collaboration avec Delphine Guedat-Bittighoffer et Virginie Clavreul de l’université d’Angers.
L’ALN est une approche développée au Canada et basée sur des recherches menées en acquisition des langues et en neurolinguistique.
L’atelier était gratuit pour les membres de FLEUR.

Le comité de FLEUR a lancé une étude : Survey on French language education in UK HE – French language teachers.
Cette étude vise à obtenir un instantané des tendances associées à l’enseignement du français langue étrangère dans l’enseignement supérieur, avec pour objectif :
- de recueillir des tendances numériques dans le secteur en ce qui concerne le personnel enseignant, les conditions de travail et les conditions contractuelles ;
- d’identifier les tendances et les thèmes en ce qui concerne la pédagogie de l’enseignement et de l’apprentissage du français langue étrangère ;
- de recueillir les avis des collègues sur les menaces et opportunités actuelles et futures afin de déterminer les domaines clés pour l’avenir.
Les résultats de cette étude seront publiés fin 2024.

Concerns about the closure of modern languages at the University of Lincoln
We are deeply troubled to once again issue a message expressing concern with regards to the possible round of redundancies in the Modern Languages Department at the University of Lincoln which could lead to the disappearance of language learning and teaching in this institution. The frequency of these announcements highlights the precarious state of the sector; and highlights how important it is for us to stand united in the face of these challenges.

Save Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Subjects at the University of Kent
FLEUR is deeply concerned with the recent news of the threat of closure or phasing out of several Humanities departments at the University of Kent, including that of the Modern Languages department. FLEUR urges the University of Kent leadership to reconsider a decision that would not only jeopardise disciplines essential to comprehending and navigating the world but that would also have an immediate impact on the lives of many colleagues and both current and future students.
